Camp Pirtle is in need of trained
chainsaw operators. More than 50 trees
are lost each year due to storms, wind damage, insects, and more so with
drought conditions of the past 3 years. It
often becomes more than one person can handle.
In this training course, Ranger Ken Skinner, along with other certified
instructors, will show you how to maintain your chainsaw to keep it in top
working condition. In addition, you will
learn what personal protective equipment (PPE) you should have, how to properly
start and operate a chainsaw, and learn the SAFE techniques for cutting
trees. You will receive a “TRAINED” card
good for two years and lunch will be provided.
If you would like to become a Trained Chainsaw Operator, sign up now as
class space is limited. Please download the form below and contact the Council Service Center. |

Did you submit
updated email addresses with your recharter?
If so, you should
be receiving a Voice of the Scout Survey sometime between March 8 and March
15. As a part of that survey, all adults
will be asked some questions about possible changes in the BSA membership
standards, as well as their opinions about Scouting programs.
If not, you can
still get the survey by clicking
here to register your email. You
will need your membership ID number to register (if you don’t know it the
council can help). If this link does not
work paste the following URL into your browser:
