Camping

Camping is an essential part of Scouting. Scouts love being in a special group of friends. Camping gives them the opportunity to live, eat, sleep, work and play together with their Scout “group” doing positive things and cementing friendships that can last a lifetime.

The East Texas Area Council is home to a variety of outstanding camping locations, each with interesting activities and features, and many with extraordinary scenery.

Check out the information below on area camping locations, which include state and national parks nearby or within a short drive, as  well as our very own Camp Pirtle.  Finally, don't forget other opportunities, such as the national high-adventure bases and Jamborees.
