Jamboree 2013 - Go Big - Get Wild (TM)

Get ready for a huge adventure!  The East Texas Area Council is putting together a contingent to attend Jamboree 2013 at the new home of Scouting Jamborees, the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. This new site has seriously exciting surroundings*, with whitewater rafting, zip-lining, rappelling, mountain biking, hiking, and more - and 50,000 people expected to attend!

The Jamboree will be held July 15-24, 2013 and registration has already started. Now is the time to tell us of your interest and to check out the information at the Jamboree site.  For more information, contact our Contingent Staff Adviser Marie Jones or Council Volunteer Adviser David Bush, and don't forget to check out the updates in the Summit Blog!

* Please note: The Summit is a physically demanding facility, and minimum physical fitness standards will be enforced. While the jamboree is not as strenuous as an extended high-adventure trek, it will be appreciably more demanding than past jamborees held at Fort A.P. Hill.
