Council, District and Unit Leaders,

The East Texas Area Commissioner Corps is committed to providing the highest level of Unit Service possible. To that end, I want to welcome two Assistant Council Commissioners to our team who will help us achieve our goals.

Paul R Shaw has accepted the position as Assistant Council Commissioner and will lead our efforts in providing and managing Unit Service relationship with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have asked Paul to ensure every youth and adult who wants to continue with the Scouting program after Dec 31, 2019 is aware of all options. We want each family to understand Scouting does not have to stop and knows how to seek out and join a traditional unit if that is their wish.  He will also recommend adults that may want to continue providing service to our youth in either a District or Council level position. Paul comes to the Council Commissioners Cabinet from Wo-Ha-Li District and has a wealth of knowledge in the Wards and the Scouting.

Joseph Egbe has accepted the position as Assistant Council Commissioner and will lead efforts in providing Family and Girl Pack support in our Cub Scout program. He will also lead our Unit Service efforts for Girl Troops in the Scouting BSA program which starts in Feb of 2019.  Joseph comes to us from the Golden Eagle District and is very energized with detailed knowledge he learned at Philmont this past summer.

Each of these Commissioners will work with Membership Committees, District and Unit Commissioners as well as Units or families. Please join me in welcoming both Paul and Joseph to their new positions.
